“Part-time positions available include summer camp counselors, lifeguards, cashiers, concession attendants and pool laborers,” a written statement said.
“All positions require a criminal background check and drug screening,” it said.
Applications may be completed in advance at www.ci.lubbock.tx.us or online at the time of the job fair. Applicants should come prepared to interview, and qualified individuals will be screened, hired and processed at the time of the job fair. The requirements of individual jobs are listed below:
Summer Camp Counselors: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and have a High School diploma or GED equivalent. Applicants must be able to work consecutively from May 27th through August 22rd, from 7:30/7:45 am-5:30 pm. Applicants must be able to swim. Experience working with kids age 6-12 preferred, but not required. Must be willing to obtain First Aid and CPR certification.
Lifeguards: Applicants must be 16 years of age or older at the time of hire. Experience as a lifeguard preferred, but not required. Applicants must be American Red Cross certified in CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguarding. All certifications must be obtained prior to being hired. Proof of current enrollment in class or certifications must be turned in with application.
Cashiers/Concession Attendants: Must be 16 years of age or older at the time of hire. Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds and up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work between the hours of 12-7PM daily and on weekends. Cash handling experience requested but not required. Will provide training.
Pool Laborers: Must be 16 years of age or older at the time of hire. Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds and up to 50 pounds. Must be able to learn to operate pool cleaning equipment, learn and follow safety procedures, and maintain written records. Will provide training.
