LUBBOCK, TX – Lubbock County Commissioners on Monday are scheduled to increase the fees for renting a clubhouse. The fees will go up to $100 and the deposit will go up to $200.

The county has four such clubhouses – one for each precinct. Precinct Three Commissioner Bubba Sedeno said they’re rented out to people for weddings, community events, meals, graduation parties and more.

Even after the price increase, “It’s a pretty good fee for those clubhouses,” Sedeno said.

Commissioner Patti Jones said, “We feel like everyone is still getting a good deal. But we needed to get closer to a break-even point.”

In the past the clubhouses did not have exactly the same rules. After Monday, if commissioner approve, that will change.

“There will be rules posted,” Jones said. “There will be a check-off sheet; take out the trash, run the vacuum, sweep - just the basics.”
