LUBBOCK, TX -- Crosbyton Police Chief Greg Parrott was placed on paid leave last week. Parrott said he does not know why, and the City Administrator, Margot Hardin, said “no comment” as to the reason.

“I’m supposed to find out on Tuesday,” Parrott said referring to a City Council meeting on Tuesday March 18 at 7:00 pm.

When asked “what were you told?” Parrott responded, “Just a complaint had been made.”

“I haven’t done anything. This is frivolous,” Parrott added. “I look forward to telling my side of the story to the council.”

Parrott said three complaints have been filed against him in recent months. He knew exactly what each three said, and he felt confident that he had been cleared in all three circumstances.

However, a fourth complaint was filed and Parrott said he was not told what he was accused of.

“They would not tell me what it was,” Parrott said.

As for public safety Hardin said Crosbyton residents are, “completely covered. We have plenty of protection.”

Hardin said a City Council agenda for the 18th was not yet available.
