Dine & Donate at Texas Roadhouse Thursday, Support Special Olympics

LUBBOCK, TX (PRESS RELEASE) -  A few of Lubbock’s finest will exchange their handcuffs for aprons on Thursday, July 24.  They'll spend the evening serving up support at the local Texas Roadhouse at the Tip A Cop event.  During the tasty fundraiser, Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) members and Special Olympics Texas athletes will work the dinner shift for tips to later donate to Special Olympics Texas.
Make plans to join the Law Enforcement Torch Run at the Texas Roadhouse located at 4810 S. Loop 289 in Lubbock.
Torch runners will greet and serve patrons and assist wait staff from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., collecting donations to support Special Olympics Texas athletes in the South Plains area.  Patrons can also purchase a Law Enforcement Torch Run t-shirt after they dine and donate; proceeds also benefit SOTX athletes in Lubbock.

About the Law Enforcement Torch Run
The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) is Special Olympics' largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle.  In Texas, the Law Enforcement Torch Run began in 1985 and had grown to become one of the largest in the nation.  In the last decade, Torch Run has contributed more than $11 million through the dedication of thousands of law enforcement personnel fundraising on behalf of SOTX.  The support provided by this dedicated group has contributed greatly to programs in local communities, which involve more than 51,300 athletes with intellectual disabilities throughout the state.
