Youth will be inspired to read by using the latest technology, including checking out free books through our online Public Library programs! Mae Simmons Community Center and the Maggie Trejo Supercenter will be the first camps to utilize this program. By reading at camp, youth will also have the chance to earn prizes through the Summer Reading Programs at both L.I.S.D and the Lubbock Public Libraries! When summer is over, the e-readers will be used in our After School Programs so your gift will keep on giving!
To kick off the E-Reader Drive, Parks and Recreation will be hosting a News Conference on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Information Desk in the South Plains Mall. For more information, call (806) 775-2685.
