LUBBOCK, TX (NEWS RELEASE) - Donovan Osby, 36, has been captured.
Through an investigation by Lubbock Police Department detectives, and with the help of the Lubbock Field Office of the United States Marshals Service and the Albuquerque U.S. Marshals Service, Osby was arrested today [Friday] around noon.
He will be extradited to Lubbock sometime in the next few days.
Osby is charged with Burglary of a Habitation with intent to commit other felony for the following case:
On March 7th at approximately 11:30 a.m., officers responded to a home burglary in the 4700 block of 29th Street. When officers arrived, they found a couple at the home. The male victim had injuries to his head and was taken to the hospital.
According the couple, the suspect approached their home wearing a plastic work hat and a reflective vest. The suspect presented himself as a service representative for a gas company, and the victims believed he was trying to locate a gas leak. The suspect went inside the home where he and the male victim got into a physical altercation. The male victim was hit over the head, and the female victim tried to break up the attack by hitting the suspect. The suspect then fled the scene.
