SHALLOWATER, TX - Shallowater volunteer firefighters were called to the 700 block of 16th Street just after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday. A duplex was reported to be on fire.
Other area VFD’s including Carlisle and New Deal were also called to help. The residence was described as a total loss.
According to a photojournalist on scene, a person who lived there said the fire seemed to have started with a couch along the backside of the residence. This person said the flames were already climbing the outside wall when he saw it.
