LUBBOCK, TX -- Amadeo Cruz Torres, 23, was indicted Tuesday by a Lubbock County grand jury for sexual assault of a child.  The original charge against Torres when he was arrested on June 18 was aggravated sexual assault of a child.

EverythingLubbock.com broke the story that Torres was arrested in a police sting operation at the South Plains Mall.  The mother of a teenage girl came to police after learning of her daughter’s sexual assault allegation against Torres.

According to an arrest warrant Torres represented himself as a representative in the modeling industry.  Torres made arrangements to meet his victim at the mall, and, according to the arrest warrant, convinced her to go into a restroom.  The warrant said he not only took pictures of her naked, but, also touched her inappropriately.

The official records said Torres was arrested in the act of trying to contact another underage girl. Using information from the victim, police were able to intercept Torres' text messages to one of her friends.  Officers were waiting for him when he showed up at the mall.
