Legacy Elementary, Frenship ISD's seventh elementary school campus, is the final major project of the district's 2007 bond election appropriating 128 million dollars to support the continued growth and success in the district.
The 116,000 square foot facility includes more than 30 classrooms, a large isolated kindergarten wing, a life skills learning center to accommodate special needs learners, a computer lab, and a full-size competition gym for both school and community use.
Twenty-eight staff members will be ready to welcome approximately 250 students when school begins next Monday, August 25. This year, Legacy will open as a kindergarten through second grade campus. Additional grades will be added during the next three years until the campus hosts kindergarten through fifth grade students.
Distinguished community leaders are scheduled to attend Thursday's ceremony. Brad Draper, Frenship Board of Trustees President, and Cheryl Booher, Legacy Elementary Principal, will conduct the official ribbon cutting. The public is invited to attend.
