FLOYDADA, TX – A Floydada high school library teaching assistant is under investigation according to Police Chief Darrell Gooch.

A police report of sexual “misconduct” between the assistant and a student was filed on Friday.

The Plainview Daily Herald said Monday, “A teaching assistant is accused of engaging in a sexual act with a 16- year-old male student.” The Herald said the female teaching assistant resigned shortly after the police report.

Gooch did not release the name of the assistant because no charges have been filed and no arrests have been made. He said his department hopes to present the case to a grand jury on Thursday.
