Local Teacher's Aide Resigns After Controversial Social Media Post

LUBBOCK, TX - Lubbock ISD said an educational aide resigned Tuesday morning after a comment she made on social media.

“Yesterday, Lubbock ISD was made aware of posts on the personal Facebook page of Amy Davidson which were in violation of the district’s employee handbook,” LISD said.

“Davidson resigned her position this morning, effective immediately. She has been employed by the district less than two years as an educational aide.”

The comment on social media was in reference to NFL players taking a knee instead of standing during the playing of the national anthem.

“You should have more respect for our soldiers, vets and country,” the post said. “If you don’t, feel free to take your TV and watch NFL in a different country.”

During an online argument Davidson told another woman to go back to Mexico.
