LUBBOCK, TX -- The Lubbock housing and construction market has rebounded considerably in the last four years but it still has not recovered to its 2010 levels according to numbers released this month by the City of Lubbock. Lubbock had 247 construction permits for March – the most recent numbers available. Of those, 74 were for new homes.

The taxable value of new construction for March was estimated at $34,301,720 – up from March of last year and most certainly up from March of 2011. But it still fell short of the taxable value in March of 2010 when it was $42,159,962.

Year-to-date in 2014 the estimated taxable value of new construction was $115,946,511 at the end of March as compared to $117,693,938 for the same period in 2010.
