Lubbock Memorial Arboretum to Host Bird Watching Tour on January 7

LUBBOCK, TX (NEWS RELEASE) - The Lubbock Memorial Arboretum will present a new program on Saturday, January 7, 2017, entitled Bird-Watching/Identification Tour, conducted by Anthony Hewetson, local Audubon Society President.

The tour, open to the public, will begin at 9 a.m. at the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum Interpretive Center at 4111 University Avenue, and will take place on the easily accessible walking paths of the Arboretum.

January is the best month for bird-watching, and the Arboretum is the best place in Lubbock for identifying migratory birds.

Good walking shoes, appropriate dress and binoculars are a MUST!  Also, a field guide will be helpful.
