Lubbock Police: Woman Charged with Intoxication Manslaughter Following Fatal Crash Early Saturday

LUBBOCK, TX (NEWS RELEASE) - The Lubbock Police Department is investigating an early morning fatal crash that occurred at the intersection of 34th Street and Indiana Avenue. Around 2:40 a.m. this morning, officers responded to the intersection
where 30-year-old Maggie Davidson was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Accident investigators were immediately called, and through their initial investigation it appears Davidson was driving a passenger car westbound on 34th Street and traveled through a green light at the intersection of Indiana.

As she crossed into the intersection, 32-year-old Shani Nichols failed to stop at a red light northbound on Indiana Avenue. Nichols’ SUV then collided with Davidson’s car.
