Lubbock Sales Tax Collections Up In Comptroller's March Report

LUBBOCK, TX -- Lubbock sales tax collections are up according to figures released last week by the office of Texas Comptroller. Sales tax collections are an important indicator of economic activity.

The Comptroller reported $4,388,271.88 paid to the City of Lubbock for March – an increase of 2.89% over the same time last year. Comparing the first four months of this with same time period in 2013, the increase for the City of Lubbock is 3.18%

The March sales tax payment to Lubbock County was $1,508,195.25 – an increase of 2.37%.
