Public records say, if approved during Thursday evening’s City Council meeting, the city will spend up to $210,000 to renovate the Fiestas Del Llano building, 2420 3rd Street. Fiestas Del Llano will provide a 25 percent match to the city’s grand money.
Those records say, “Renovations will include plumbing, electrical, heating and air condition and other minor repairs. The facility will be used to conduct neighborhood meetings and events for the public.”
If approved, the city will provide $110,000 for the Roots Historical Arts East Lubbock Gateway Project at 19th Street and Avenue A. The Roots Historical Arts Council will provide matching funds of at least 25 percent.
Public records say, “The Gateway Pedestrian Walkway landscape project will include landscape infrastructure, property clearance and demolition, establish water well and irrigation system, seeding and cultivation of grass turf as well as consulting services.”
The remainder of the federal grant money would be $18,000 and, if approved, will be used for housing repairs.
