LUBBOCK, TX (NEWS RELEASE) - The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is set to close US 84, at the Frankford Avenue interchange, to all traffic, beginning Friday, Sept. 22. Both east and westbound US 84 will be detoured around the construction zone. The road closure will allow contractor Webber, LLC., to safely mill the pavement, place hot mix and seal coat the roadway.
Eastbound traffic will detoured south at Milwaukee Avenue to Erskine Street and then north onto Slide Road to reconnect with US 84. Westbound traffic will use northbound Quaker Avenue and westbound FM 2641 to continue on US 84.
The pavement operation is scheduled to take two weeks to complete with the roadway expected to reopen to traffic on Sept. 30.
