LUBBOCK, TX – A high speed chase down Loop 289 ended in an arrest Thursday afternoon.

The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office was attempting to serve a warrant near 70th and Avenue Q when the suspect drove off just before 3:00 Thursday afternoon. The male suspect ran several stop signs between 70th and South Loop 289.

Deputies tried to pull the suspect over on the Loop 289 access road near University Avenue. The man did not stop and merged onto Loop 289. His vehicle was soon boxed in by several law enforcement vehicles.

The chase continued for about 10 minutes until deputies were able to stop the vehicle along the western portion of Loop 289, just prior to the 50th street exit.

The man was then taken in custody. There were no injuries involved in the chase.
