Lubbock Mayor Dan Pope and members of the Mayor's Fitness Council will participate in the 2017 West Texas Running Club Toys for Tots Cross Country Run on Saturday, December 9. The Mayor's Fitness Council aims to grow a healthier Lubbock by showcasing local events that promote healthy eating and active living.
"This is a great event that not only helps the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve collect toys for less fortunate children in our community, but also encourages adults and children to get outside and be active," Mayor Pope said. "I encourage people to sign up and share in this season of giving."
The Toys for Tots Cross Country Run will be held at Mae Simmons Park. Online registration through the West Texas Running Club is open until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 7. For more information on this event, please visit wtrunning.com.
