Officer Brinnen Kent saw Norman and another man walking in a “high crime” neighborhood identified in a police report as the 6200 block of Avenue L. Officer Kent stopped Norman and frisked him for a weapon. Court records say the officer found Norman with handgun, and then Norman began to fight with Kent. Police said at the time that Kent was hospitalized with relatively minor injuries.
In addition to federal prison time, Norman also faces a long list of state charges such as Aggravated Assault on a Public Servant.
