LUBBOCK, TX -- Lubbock Police released a portion of the 911 call related to the death of Mikaly Leyva, 2, when she was run over Saturday afternoon by an SUV.  Mikaly was hit by a Nisan Armada which was driven by a 14-year-old girl.  She had two 8-year-old children with her in the back seat of the Armada.  Police have not said if they know why a 14-year-old was driving.

In an email statement on Monday morning, police said, “Accident Investigation will be completing interviews, mapping the scene and processing evidence over the next several days. After which they will make notification if criminal charges are being filed.”

In the 911 call a man is heard breathlessly saying, “I need an ambulance at 23rd and Avenue J. at the flea market.”

“A little girl got ran over!” he said.  “She’s not responsive.  Can you send an ambulance, please?”

“I need someone here quick, please!”

Police said the 2-year-old was “crossing the street” when she was struck by the Armada.
