Sales tax collections are considered an important indicator of economic health. So, it’s good news for local shopkeepers that collections have gone up. It means people are spending more money in local stores.
According to the Comptroller’s office Lubbock County’s monthly collection was $1,543,334.68 – an increase of 1.2 percent compared to this same time last year.
