Texas Tech Announces Summer 2017 Commencement Schedule

LUBBOCK, TX (NEWS RELEASE) -

WHAT:          
Texas Tech University hosts summer commencement ceremonies.

WHEN:          
Saturday (Aug. 12). Colleges listed in order of recognition.

9 a.m.
- Graduate School (for the schools listed below)
- College of Arts & Sciences
- College of Education
- College of Media & Communication
- College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources
- Honors College
- College of Architecture

1:30 p.m.
- Graduate School (for the schools listed below)
- Jerry S. Rawls College of Business
- College of Human Sciences
- University Programs
- Wind Energy
- Edward E. Whitacre Jr. College of Engineering
- J.T. & Margaret Talkington College of Visual & Performing Arts

WHERE:        
All ceremonies will be at United Supermarkets Arena, 1701 Indiana Ave.

WHAT:          
Texas Tech Associate Professor Jeffrey Lastrapes will speak at all commencement ceremonies. He is a visually impaired cello professor in the School of Music. Lastrapes was recruited for his accomplishments in cello by Temple University. He then advanced to the Curtis Institute of Music and then the prestigious Julliard School. Lastrapes has performed around the world and cofounded the West Texas chamber music outreach group, Caerus Ensemble.
