LUBBOCK, TX -- Two Citibus routes are scheduled for elimination as of September 29, but before that happens the Lubbock Public Transit Advisory Board will hold public hearings; the first is Tuesday, August 19 at 5:30 pm in the Sunset Church of Christ (the Well Meeting Room next to the church) 3723 34th Street.  The second is Wednesday, August 20 at noon in the Citibus Downtown Transfer Plaza, 801 Broadway Street.

One proposal is to eliminate Route 19 from 24th Street (the Quaker Medical District) to the South Plains Mall.  Another proposal is to eliminate Route 34 from 34th Street & Boston to South Plains Mall.

Previously it was estimated the reduction or elimination of these routes would affect as many as 100 West Lubbock businesses.

Citibus will also accept written comments until the close of business on August 20.  Comments can be submitted to Shannon Garrett, Administrative Assistant, Citibus, PO Box 2000, Lubbock, TX 79457 or by e-mail to sgarrett@citibus.com.
