LUBBOCK, TX (PRESS RELEASE) -- As part of their commitment to the communities they serve, The United Family™ stores in Lubbock and surrounding areas helped raise a total of $15,370 to support CASA of the South Plains. By adding a cash donation to grocery purchases at all United Supermarkets, Market Street and Amigos locations in West Texas and Dallas-Fort Worth, guests contributed a grand total of $40,838 to nine CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) organizations across the state that advocate for children in their community’s foster care system.

“Our guests’ eagerness to support at-risk children through CASA aligns with The United Family’s mission to serve each of our communities,” said Shelby Crews, community relations manager for The United Family™. “It’s a joy seeing our guests’ generosity provide advocates for children across Texas who deserve to be heard.”

Through The United Family™ scan tag promotion, CASA of the South Plains will receive every dollar raised at the 18 stores in Lubbock, Plainview, Levelland, Slaton, Post, Littlefield, Brownfield, Lamesa and Muleshoe.

CASA volunteers are appointed by a judge to speak on behalf of abused and neglected children in foster care. Donations collected through The United Family™ scan tag promotion will enable CASA to continue to recruit, train and support community advocates for more than 1,000 children in the foster care system each year.
