LUBBOCK, TX (PRESS RELEASE) - The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is scheduled to perform a road closure along the US 84 bridge project limits next week. The closure will give construction crews the space needed to accommodate equipment and safely Place bridge beams on the US 84 overpass.
To safely complete this work, crews will close eastbound US 84, between Frankford Ave. and Kent Street, to all traffic. The road closure and detour is set to begin at 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 21, and continue overnight into Wednesday morning; reopening to traffic at noon Wednesday. Then continue again at 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, until noon on Friday.
All eastbound traffic will be detoured around the work area via southbound Frankford Ave., to Erskine Ave. and north Slide Road to reconnect with US 84. Motorists who travel frequently in this area may want to seek alternate routes during these times.
Westbound US 84 will not be affected. The work and lane closures will take place weather permitting.
