AMARILLO, TX (PRESS RELEASE) - Trooper Wanda Raney, THP Tahoka, has experienced the loss of several loved ones recently. A benefit cookout held on May 2, 2014, at the Amarillo DPS Aircraft Hanger raised over $3,700 (donations are still coming in), $1,100 in gift cards to United Supermarket along with one gallon of milk per week for one year from Plains Dairy in Amarillo. Those who contributed and participated were not only from DPS but also from area law enforcement, EMS, Fire, Federal Agencies, towing companies, trucking companies, news media and citizens who heard of Trooper Raney through the media in the Amarillo market. There is no way this benefit would have been possible without the hard work from the many wonderful DPS employees in Region 5B. They truly are the best of the best!
