Xcel Energy Plans Rate Increase for Texas Customers

AMARILLO, TX -- Customers of Xcel Energy in Texas can expect to pay higher electric bills starting next month.

Beginning October 1, customers will pay about $6.58 more per month.

The rate increase has to be approved by the Public Utility Commission of Texas.

Starting November 1 and until the end of April, customers will see an extra $2.70 added to that rate increase.

Xcel Energy services portions of the Texas Panhandle and the South Plains.
