ABILENE, TX -- An 18-wheeler carrying approximately 40.55 gallon barrels of industrial glue, originally reported as petroleum, overturned along Interstate 20 at the U.S. Highway 277 exit Thursday morning, slowing west bound traffic.

The glue, which spilled on the highway as some of the barrels ruptured upon impact, was cleaned up by a private contractor and hauled off. The traffic flow along Interstate 20 near the wreck has returned to normal.

According to the driver, who did not suffer any serious injuries in the accident, another 18-wheeler in the outside lane was coming too close to him, so he moved left before he noticed the guard rail.

When the driver noticed the rail, which was partially taken out by the truck, he over-corrected, causing the 18-wheeler to flip.

A passenger in the 18-wheeler also survived the accident without injury.
