ARCHER CITY, TX - Kelvin Green, 18, had not even graduated high school yet when he was sworn in as Archer City Mayor Friday morning.

Green was the only person who filed to run for the position. City officials said he is about 20 years younger than all of the city’s previous mayors. Green said while growing up, people always told him he would be great for the position because of his passion for Archer City.

“It’s my whole world; it’s my life. I have lived here for 18 years and I am proud to be a part of it,” he said.

Green says he doesn’t have a grand agenda as the mayor. He says when you start telling people what you are going to do they usually get upset and he wants to avoid that.
