CLOVIS, NM -- A Clovis man has been sentenced to life in prison, plus 31-years, for a murder that happened last year.

Daniel Murrell, 25, was found guilty earlier this month of first degree murder, armed robbery and tampering with evidence.

Murrell was charged with the January 2013 Armed Robbery, Theft of a Credit Card and Illegal Use of Credit Cards when he robbed a Clovis resident and beat him with a firearm.

Two days later, Murrell robbed and beat Joe Garcia behind the Allsups store at 11th and Mitchell in Clovis.  Garcia died a few days later from complications of blunt force trauma he suffered, which resulted in Murrell being charged with Felony Murder and Robbery.
