AMARILLO, TX (NEWS RELEASE) - The following is a news release from the Texas DPS in Amarillo:
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) seized 140 pounds of marijuana Thursday, November 2, after a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle in Carson County.
At approximately 2:33 p.m., a DPS Trooper stopped a 2017 Ford Expedition traveling east on I-40 near Conway, for a traffic violation.The Trooper then discovered multiple plastic-wrapped packages of marijuana in the rear cargo area. The illegal drugs are worth approximately $849,000.
The driver – Koua Lee, 36, of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota – was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana. Lee was transported and booked into the Carson County jail.
The drugs allegedly were being transported from California to Oklahoma.
