HUGHES SPRINGS, TX -- Investigators believe alcohol and speed may have caused a driver to crash into Giovanni's Italian Restaurant shortly before 3:30 am Sunday in Hughes Springs.

Police Chief Randy Kennedy said Corey Holloman, 34, was driving a 1997 Mercury at a high rate of speed when he lost control and slammed into the eatery.  No one was hurt.  Kennedy said Holloman submitted a blood sample for testing and was released to a family member.  When lab results come back Holloman might be charged with DWI.

Giovanni's boarded up the windows Sunday and there is no word yet on when it will reopen for business.
