According to official documents, Camp was indicted by a Taylor County Grand Jury on charges of selling firearms illegally and making a profit off of those sales between $1,500 and $20,000. Camp was also indicted on a charge of illegally “transporting and transferring” three or more firearms.
Camp was held Monday morning on bonds totaling $10,000.
In December of 2012 Abilene police went to Abilene Gold Exchange to serve a search warrant. Police said the Gold Exchange was not recording purchases of precious metal as required by law.
Police also said another former owner, Marcus Cass, came from a back room in the building and pointed a gun at police. An officer shot and killed Cass, and Camp was arrested.
