PECOS, TX -- A former officer with the Pecos Police Department has been arrested in connection with a drug raid executed by federal agents earlier in the week.

Helen Vernon was taken into custody Tuesday evening and is charged with misuse of information.

Jose Corrales and his daughter, Angelica Corrales, were arrested by federal agents on Monday during a drug raid in Pecos. Both have been charged with five counts of methamphetamine possession with intent to distribute.

Authorities say Jose Corrales is the live in Boyfriend of Helen Vernon. Vernon resigned from the police department shortly after the arrest of both her boyfriend and his daughter.

Pecos Chief of Police Clay, McKinney said Vernon was a "Sergeant Investigator with the Criminal Investigations Division" and that she had been with the department for "at least 10 years".

According to court documents the methamphetamine ring dates back as early as April 2013. As one neighbor witnessed, yesterday it all came to an end.

Both Jose Corrales and Angelica Corrales are due back in court on Thursday, August 21 at 10 am.
