BELLVUE, TX – The DPS says a man was killed Wednesday morning in a crash along U.S. Highway 287 near the Clay and Montague County line.

The accident occurred around 5:30 a.m. near Bellevue in the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 287.

DPS Trooper Tony Fulton says the name of the driver is not being released at this time while the investigation continues. Fulton says it appears a truck pulling a trailer hit a semi. Fulton say one of the trucks spilled saline solution on the road. A health inspector was forced to come out to clear the scene.

TXDOT had to re-route northbound traffic around the crash.  U.S. Highway 287 northbound traffic was down to one lane right before you get to Bellevue. Traffic was heavily backed-up earlier Wednesday morning.
