Murder Suspect Caught After Double Stabbing

ODESSA, TX -- According to the Odessa Police Department Daniel Michael Smith, 27, was arrested in Phoenix, Arizona for a double-stabbing Monday night that killed one person and seriously injured another.

Odessa police were called 1600 North Hancock to find William Smiley, 21, had been stabbed at the scene. Police said Clinton Howard, 34, had also been stabbed at the scene. He tried to drive off but was involved in a crash a few blocks away. Howard later died. Police later revealed Smith was also the suspect in the assault Amberlyn Brooks, 19, in a different incident last month.

Smiley and Brooks were seriously hurt the in the separate incidents but recovering. Smith has been charged with murder, aggravated assault, and domestic violence.
