One Dead, Several Injured in Comanche Fireworks Explosion

COMANCHE, TX -- A fireworks-related explosion in Comanche has taken the life of one person, and injured several others. At about 9:00 am at Comanche High School, a trailer containing fireworks for the town’s holiday festivities exploded.

According to BigCountryHomepage.com Dr. Russell C. Reynolds, who worked as the town chiropractor, was killed in the explosion.

Also according to BigCountryHomepage.com, Rex Plumlee and a person who has not yet been named were critically injured in the explosion. Harry Dudley and Eddie Parker received minor injuries from the explosion.

All those involved are members of the local Kiwanis Club who annually put on the show, which is one of the largest fireworks displays in Texas. They were preparing for the Independence Day fireworks display at the time of the explosion.
