HOBBS, NM (NEWS RELEASE) - Officers responded to 1200 E. Broadway, #508 in reference to a female gunshot victim at approximately 12:30 A.M. on Thursday, June 15. The female was later identified as Ashley Thompson. Upon arrival, officers observed the front door of the apartment to have been forced open. They entered the apartment and located Thompson suffering from a gunshot wound. Hobbs EMS arrived on scene and transported her to Lea Regional Medical Center for further treatment. Thompson was later air lifted to UMC Hospital located in Lubbock, TX. She is currently in stable condition.
Detectives were called to the scene where they interviewed witnesses who advised they observed an unknown male, wearing all black, run out of apartment #508 and run west bound towards Jefferson. They reported he then entered a white 4-door hatchback vehicle and fled north bound on Jefferson.
