WICHITA FALLS, TX – Our sister station KFDX-TV, in Wichita Falls, has confirmed Sheppard Air Force Base, along with all U.S. military bases, is under consideration to house additional immigrant children if needed, and if the base has the facilities.
Lt. Col. Tom Crosson of the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs, told KFDX-TV all
According to the request, bases were required to report any buildings now not in use with a minimum 24,000 square feet and 15 acres of clear land around them. Crosson says he believes all bases have made their reports.

He says criteria for considering base housing requires the facilities under consideration must be vacant and the housing of children can not disrupt the training or other missions.
