San Angelo Police Arrest Man For Assault on Elderly Man

SAN ANGELO, TX -- A San Angelo man is facing felony charges in connection with the assault of an elderly man early Wednesday morning in the 300 block of South Irving.

San Angelo Police officers were dispatched to Shannon Medical Center at approximately 1:30 early Wednesday morning for an individual in possession of a knife. Upon arrival police noticed the man had blood on his person and did not appear to be injured.  

During their initial investigation, San Angelo Police learned that an assault took place in the Bosque Park off Irving Street. Officers quickly located the 73-year-old victim still in the park.  Due to his injuries, the victim was taken to Shannon Medical Center. The circumstances surrounding the assault are still being investigated by the San Angelo Police Criminal Investigative Division.
Kendall Griffin, 46, of San Angelo, was arrested for Injury to and Elderly Individual Causing Serious Bodily Injury and was transported to the Tom Green County Jail without incident.
