DALHART, TX - Officials at the Dalhart Police Department said Texas Rangers have been asked to investigate an officer-involved shooting. According to Dalhart police, at 2:15 a.m. Monday, officers responded to the report of a suicidal subject at Dalhart Self Storage in the 700 block of Liberal Street.
When police arrived, they found a woman armed with a shotgun.
Officers attempted to negotiate with the woman. However, police said the woman turned the shotgun on the officers and they shot her her multiple times.
The woman was transported to Coon Memorial Hospital and then later to University Medical Center in Lubbock.
Names of officers and the woman have not yet been released. The woman's condition has also not yet been released.
