Wichita Falls Father Charged After 4-Year-Old Son Fires Handgun

WICHITA FALLS, TX -- A Wichita Falls is now facing charges after his 4-year-old son shot a handgun at a local daycare center back in May.

Brian Stone, 28, of Wichita Falls, is charged with endangering a child. He turned himself in on a felony county warrant back on Monday.

According to the affidavit, Stone went to a daycare center in the 4700 block of K-Mart Drive with his two children young children. Stone went in to drop off his 2-year-old off, leaving his 4-year-old son in the car.

Authorities say that child picked up Stone's 9mm handgun and fired it. The bullet went through the vehicle's front passenger window and hit the outside wall of the church daycare. The handgun kicked back and struck the four-year-old who got a cut above his eyebrow. That was the only injury in the incident.

Stone bonded out of the Wichita County Jail on a $5000 bond after turning himself in on Monday.
