WICHITA FALLS, TX (KFDX/KJTL) - A 26-year-old Wichita Falls man has been arrested for allegedly hitting his grandmother because she refused to upgrade his cell phone for him.
Wichita Falls Police say they got called to a family disturbance in the 1700 block of Ardath about 5:00 p.m. Sunday.
They say they found a 67-year-old woman inside the house crying and holding an ice bag on her left eye.
The officer says her eye and cheek were red and swollen. The woman told the officer her grandson, Tyler Craig, hit her after she refused to pay for an upgrade to his phone.
An officer says he found Craig in the backyard and Craig asked if he was being arrested for slapping his grandmother.
Craig was indeed arrested and charge with injury to an elderly person.
