WICHITA FALLS, TX -- Prosecutors this week charged Brandon Leija, 20, with manslaughter after the March 28 crash that killed Sage Marines, 22, of Quanah.

Officials at the time said a Ford Mustang ran off the road just outside Quanah, went airborne and hit a utility pole – snapping it in half. More recently officials have said Leija was the driver.

Marines was a back seat passenger in the car. Another passenger, T.J. Coley, 19, was taken to a Lubbock hospital to recover, and Leija was taken to a Wichita Falls hospital to recover.

Officials this week said Leija's blood alcohol contact was 0.10 – higher than the 0.08 legal limit – and an analysis of the vehicle showed it was traveling more than 100 miles per hour three seconds before the crash.

At last check Leija was held on a $100,000 bond.
