LUBBOCK, TX -- A committee of local Republican leaders chose Dustin Burrows to be the GOP candidate for District 83 State Representative.  The district covers parts of Lubbock and several nearby counties.  Current office-holder Charles Perry stepped aside from that race in order to run for State Senator.

Burrows offered the following statement by phone on Thursday:

“I thank the committee for their time and attention to this process.  I am honored that they voted for me to be the next representative of district 83.  I look forward earning the support of the voters of the district.  I proudly accept the appointment to the ballot, and I’m deeply aware of the responsibility conferred upon me.  I look forward to campaigning on conservative ideas, marketplace freedom and respect for the rule of law because those are the solutions to the problems Texas is facing.”
