Bear said she was running, “Mostly because I saw that Victor [Hernandez] wasn’t doing anything for this district.”
“If I get into office I want cut back on spending and debts,” Moore said.
“I’m not a career politician,” Moore said. “The cronyism in this city is amazing. Things like that need to get stopped.”
Moore cited city funding for the North and East Lubbock Community Development Corporation as an example of cronyism. She said the citizens of Lubbock should not be funding a development corporation that tries to shield its records from open records requests.
“If that takes an ordinary housewife on the council then that’s what I’ll do,” She said. “I want to see a better unified council.”
The election is May 10.
