The New Deal Lions and Post Antelopes will play a full three game slate as they split games on Friday at LCU's Hays Field. New Deal rallied from a 5-0 deficit to beat Post 8-5 in game one. The Bold Gold rebounded to win game two 9-6. A decisive game three will be Saturday, noon at Hays Field.
The Shallowater Mustangs continue to play like one of the best teams in 3A as they hammer Reagan County 17-3 to earn a two game sweep in the Regional Quarterfinals. The Mustangs scored 29 runs in the two games.
It took the Levelland Lobos four innings to get some of their first base hits as they drop game one of three 10-0 to the Bushland Falcons. Logan Ellis threw a complete game shutout for the Falcons. Game two will be Saturday at Amarillo High with first pitch coming at noon.
The Coronado Mustangs were unable to come up with timely base hits as they stranded base runners in each of the first three innings of work against Amarillo High and drop game one 6-1. The Mustangs and Sandies will be back in action Saturday 11 am at Dan Law Field.
The Lubbock Christian Eagles quest to win a fourth consecutive state title in baseball came to an end on Thursday night in Crosby as they fell 11-0 to Cypress Christian. The Eagles fell behind early, 5-0 after the first inning and were unable to recover.
Shallowater pitcher Hayden VanderRoest was dominant as he pitched five complete innings of two run, one hit, thirteen strike out ball in 12-2 Mustang win over Reagan County. This is the third run rule win for the Mustangs this post season. Game two is Friday, 4:30 at Stanton High School.
Coronado goalkeeper Bennett Hoagland signed his letter of intent to play soccer for Butch Lauffer at West Texas A&M. The level of comfort with the campus and the success of the program were the biggest selling points for Hoagland.
