For the 3rd time Valhalla Golf club produced an epic finish to a PGA Championship that ended with Rory McIlroy winning his 4th major and hoisting his 2nd Wannamaker Trophy.

Valhalla Golf Club is one of the neatest Golf courses I have ever been to and it just seems to set up for great finishes, and we got another one today. Rory Edged out the biggest names in the game this week, in Phil Mickelson and Rickie Fowler, along with guys like Jason Day and Henrik Stenson. All of those guys are great people and extremely easy to root for and I think this will be a preview of what’s to come for the game of golf as it transitions to life after Tiger. Rory is showing us some dominance that we haven’t seen since Tiger in the 2000’s and is stepping up to carry the torch for this game.

The biggest thing that stood out to ne today, sitting from our broadcast potion on 13, were the roars, they were ‘Augusta like roars’ coming from all over the golf course, the fans were fired up and the players were putting on a show taking aim at a vulnerable golf course that was incredibly soft thanks to some torrential rains , but credit to the Valhalla grounds crew and their volunteers, there were rivers running down the fairways right before we hit the air, and they got that thing playable in about an hour and a half and allowed us to finish up today.

This has been an incredible experience this week, some of the best people you will ever meet work for CBS Sports and they have always been nothing but kind and accommodating to me since I started working with them in 2009. The experience of being behind the 18th green for the last couple of groups and watching Rory finish up in near darkness is a memory that I will have forever, and it will only get more special with each passing major Rory McIlroy brings home, its been a great week at Valhalla, and they need another golf tournament, soon!
