One of Kliff Kingsbury’s former quarterbacks, Kase Keenum, is fighting for a job as the back-up QB in Texans Camp.

Keenum is one of three quarterbacks competing as, veteran, Ryan Fitzpatrick was brought in to be the starter while, rookie, Tom Savage was drafted in the 4th round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

"Basically in the first 3 or 4 practices where Fitzy will get the bulk of the reps,” Head Coach Bill O’Brien said, “And right now Case is getting the 2nd most, Tommy gets ‘the third Most.”.

O’Brien said the battle will continue to play out over the next couple of weeks.

“Tommy gets a lot of reps on his own because we basically do a "2-spot" drill, there at the beginning of practice and we'll do more of those as practice goes on,” O’Brien said, “Where he gets his own reps and then Case comes over and gets some of those reps too so it balances itself out, then we determine who's ahead of who.”

In the early stages of camp however, the Quarterback reps are playing out with the two veterans up top.

“Right now it's Ryan, its Case and it's Tom,” O’Brien said.
